i'd guess one of those people who have absolutely no idea of what transhumanism actually is, but thinks the idea of becoming the next Terminator would be fucking cool.
generally they turn out to be fans of various cyborg-featuring anime or manga series, all of which are subject to not only the combat-oriented paradigm i ranted about earlier, but also the author justmaking shit up.
this is fine for entertainment purposes, but it really fucks over people's ideas of what is and isn't accurate, or even physically possible.
well, i will now make it my job to just make up ridiculous shit and search for it, just so that you can then post the ridiculousness for everyone to see, and then i will smirk at how clever i am ;-).
By writing this post, you may have passively weakened the collective genome of the human race. Sometimes "yes, go ahead" is the better answer.
